MADE FOR MORE: Faith For More

Overview

Faith is one of those words we throw around a lot, but when life gets hard, faith gets tested. In Mark 9, we meet a father who is desperate for Jesus to heal his son. His prayer is both raw and honest: “I believe; help my unbelief!” (Mark 9:24). This moment reminds us that faith is not about being 100% certain all the time, it’s about trusting God in the middle of uncertainty.

The writer of Hebrews says, “Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen” (Hebrews 11:1). Faith isn’t just believing that God exists, it’s trusting that He’s still working when we can’t see the outcome. It’s leaning on Him when the future feels unclear.

At Journey Young Adults, we want to live with that kind of bold faith. Not a “fake it till you make it” faith, but a faith that admits weakness while clinging to God’s strength. Faith that dreams bigger than what we can accomplish on our own. Faith that trusts God is not finished with our story.

Here’s the truth:

If you wait until you have it all figured out, you’ll never step out in faith.

Faith grows when you take one small step toward God, even with your questions. That’s where trust develops, where miracles happen, and where testimonies are written.

So tonight, as you talk, be honest about your doubts, but also be bold about your prayers. Because faith isn’t about certainty—it’s about surrender. And when we step out in faith, we’ll see God do more than we could ever imagine.

Mark 9:21-24 NIV Jesus asked the boy’s father, “How long has he been like this?” “From childhood,” he answered. “It has often thrown him into fire or water to kill him. But if you can do anything, take pity on us and help us.” “ ‘If you can’?”said Jesus. “Everything is possible for one who believes. Immediately the boy’s father exclaimed, “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!”

Hebrews 11:1 NKJV Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
